On 12 February 2026, the PhD Student Council at DSV hosted PhD Day 2026 – a full day of sharing research, exchanging ideas, and connecting across the department, together with invited participants from beyond DSV.
A day of posters, pitches, and conversations
PhD Day 2026 was centred around sharing research and the conversations it sparks. The programme included two poster sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each session began with short pitches, giving everyone a quick overview before moving into poster discussions and questions in a more informal setting. Alongside PhD projects, some master’s students also took part by presenting their thesis work, and we were happy to welcome a few participants from outside DSV as well.
Keynote: From efficiency to effectiveness
A highlight of the day was a one-hour keynote by Åsa Burman, Associate Professor in Practical Philosophy at Stockholm University, titled “From efficiency to effectiveness.” She shared a few practical techniques focused on the how of academic work processes, followed by a short Q&A.

Closing and evening at DISK’s FooBar
The event concluded with closing remarks from the PhD Student Council and faculty, followed by a relaxed and enjoyable evening at DISK’s FooBar.
