On November 20th the PhD student council together with DSV co-organized DSV’s first “PhD Day”. The event provided PhD students with a platform to present their research, receive feedback, and foster collaboration across disciplines. Students earned 2 credit points, while faculty and researchers attended to engage in discussions. The event helped strengthen the PhD community at DSV, and lunch and fika were provided.

The day began with an introduction by the PhD student council, followed by brief research presentations from students.

The keynote, delivered by Sunnee Billingsley, a Professor of Sociology at Stockholm University and the Department of Sociology’s Studierektor for their Doctoral Program, focused on overcoming challenges during the PhD journey both for students and their supervisors.

After lunch, the event transitioned into poster sessions, with the PhD students presenting their work while engaging in discussions. The day concluded with closing remarks from the PhD student council and faculty and a nice evening in DISK’s FooBar.

We hope you all enjoyed the event and to see you again next year,
