Overview | Call For Posters | Schedule | Registration |
As part of PhD Day 2024, we invite all PhD students from the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) to present their research through poster sessions. This is a great opportunity to share your work, get feedback from peers and faculty, and explore new directions for your research.
Poster Format
All posters will be in the A1 format, in vertical orientation. Posters can be printed with DSV’s internal plotting service, which is free of charge. A template for the poster can be found under the following link:

If you have questions about the poster, don’t hesitate to contact the PhD council – We’re happy to help!
Two Participation Options:
Option 1: PhD students who wish to earn 2 credit points must:
-
Present their poster at the event.
- Participate in conversations on fellow PhD students’ posters/research work
-
Submit a short report (~3 pages, 12pt, excluding references) after the event, which includes the following sections:
-
Title and Author Information
- The (preliminary) title of your thesis or current research focus
- Your name and affiliation
-
Main Content (~2 pages):
- Introduction (with references)
- Your research questions or aim
- Methodology and preliminary results
-
Feedback Summary and Reflection (~1 page):
- A summary of the questions and constructive discussions from the poster session
- A reflection on how to continue your research based on the feedback received
-
Reference List
Include all cited references at the end of the report.
-
Students who complete these steps will be awarded 2 credit points toward their PhD. This is a great opportunity to refine your research through peer input while gaining academic credits.
Option 2: Poster Presentation without Credits
For students who do not need or want credits, you are welcome to present your poster without submitting a follow-up report.
In both cases, participants should prepare:
- A poster summarizing their current research
- A short pitch (approximately 2 minutes, supported by 1-2 slides) to introduce their poster, which will be presented to the audience before the poster session.
This is a valuable opportunity to gain insights from your peers, refine your research, and build collaborations within the department.
Save the date and start preparing your posters!
